Hello, my girlfriend has a Saab 9-3 as well and her battery just died I think. Funny, she got it from a Regency Chrysler dealer and the battery is a 12v GM battery. Is this a problem? What battery...

No, a battery is a battery as long as its 12volts. I would take it back and have it tested, if its bad Im sure they will warranty it. This would be a good time to check the charging system to insure the alternator is putting out the proper voltage and amps to keep the battery charged.

Cavalier 2005: When headlights are on; heater stops, dash lights go very very dimm and turn signal does not work and ipod ( hooked up to sig.lighter ) stops working....What could be the cause ? Thanks.

Alternator may be bad, causing battery to lose voltage. I think you should have the starting/charging system checked, and replace the battery and alternator as required by the testing. I wouldn't drive it until this problem is fixed, as the car can shut down when the voltage gets too low, working off of the battery. Check whether the charge light is lit when the car is running. If it is, there is a self detected problem with the alternator. If not, there could still be a voltage charge problem, that hasn't been self detected, perhaps a diode is bad or voltage regulator is faulty, causing the alternator to barely put out enough power to keep the car running.

The car didn't start without a jump, first time: then it wouldn't go over 20 and seemed to have a mind of it's own.

SOUND LIKE ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING BATTERY.CHECK ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE OUT PUT AT THE BATTERY WITH ENGINE IDLING VOLTAGE SHOULD BE 13.5 - 14.5 VOLTS. IF NOT ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE REGULATOR FAULTY. CHECK ALTERNATOR 80 AMP FUSE FIRST.ALSO MAKE SURE ALTERNATOR BATTERY FEED WIRE AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR WIRES IN PLACE TIGHT AND WIRES NOT DAMAGED.MAKE SURE ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT HAS CORRECT TENSION NOT SLIPPING.TO KEEP FROM LOCKING OUT RADIO TURN OFF RADIO FIRST BEFORE REMOVING NEGATIVE BATTERY WHEN YOU GET READY TO REPAIR ALTERNATOR.

Car died the other day, wouldn't hold a charge, husband replaced alternator and belt charged it up but is running very rough any ideas?

Why was the alternator changed? Was it not charging the battery? Was the Check Engine light on? If so, the fault codes need to be scanned to determine the area of the problem. There is not enough information to make a diagnosis.

It's the alternator...it is not keeping your battery charged. You can remove it and take it to a local parts store and they will test it for free.
