How do you replace an oil pump on 2002 Chevy trailblazer

The engine is shot. Throwing an oil pump on it , is throwing away money and time. Oil pumps rarely go bad. Pull the oil cap, if the is sludge on it, it is way worse inside the engine. You'll clean it and slap on a pump. Only to find out the crank bearings are worn out and it starts knocking. Change the oil, add oil additive to it and drive it till it dies. Then scrap it or replace the engine.

2002 Chevy silverado 1500 4x4 5.3 shuts off randomly while driving. This started last month but has gotten worse in the last three to four days. This is our only driver as well so very important. We...

Most likely The fuel pump is going bad. Also the engine oil running below 1 quart can cause engine shut down(Engine Oil Light). The fuel pump and low oil shut down will not register a fault code. The cheapest approach to your problem is to, Make oil level correct, change air filter, change fuel filter And add 1 can of B&G44K to a full tank of 91 octane fuel. This additive is the best on the market and only available through dealerships(Do not use substitutes). The B&G will condition the fuel pump and injectors and increase MPG. and improve drivability.

Service engine light stays on after an oil change

The Service Light indicates that the EMC has detected and problem and needs to be addressed. Your going to have the get the Blazer scanned for DTC codes which could be a simple problem as to a faulty Gas Cap to a bad O2 sensor.
Sorry can not help you more then this but most large auto parts store like Auto Zone will scan your blazer for free and some auto shop charge as low as $10.00 to scan and reset the ECM.
Good luck and hope it's something simple.

How do I reset the oil change light in a 2008 Chevy Suburban

Try this: turn the key to the RUN position (don't start it), press the accelerator to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds. The oil life light should flash twice, indicating that it's been reset.

If you have steering wheel controls, you can navigate to where it says Oil Life and then hold the arrow down, that should also reset the oil life.
