Hi, when I first move the car out form the parking lot with a fully turned steering whell to right/left, there is a popping/ticking/clicking sound coming from the front of the car. After I lined up the sterring wheel I do not hear it again. And it always happens with the low speed. coul dyou tell me what part of the car is making this sound?

Re: 2004 pacifica popping/clicking sound
Take an look behind you front wheels, turn in your wheel, and turn off the car, there rubber boots that cover your CV joints,if they are crack, you will see grease/oil.when the cv joints go bad thats the sound your hearing.

On mine you have to push the brake to release the steering sounds like it is jammed turn key to on position then put in gear and back to park if it is automatic and try moving steering whell at same time to get it unjammed this is a pretty common thing with the focus
the gear shifter may not be fully in park also sometimes if the steering wheel is jaming try to move steering wheel and check vehicle is fully in park is key stuck in the on position or can you turn off car or you just cant remove key
Did you leave the steering wheel turn to right or left? If so turn it to the way you left it as far as it will go then try to turn the key. Try this a few times to get it to key to turn. Also try rocking the car while turn the steering wheel and key might need another person. Cause: the park pin is ingaged and with the wheels being turned makes it hard to unlock steering colum.
I have the same problem, low speeds and only when i turn to the left, steering locks or jams, but only at low speeds, and parking lot manuevers. Will replace gear box, simple 3 or 4 bolts, and can easily be done in a drive way or home garage. Hope this helps! 90% its the gear box even if you have the right one already. Tips** you should have the 680 gear box and not the old one (670 3 bolt patter). The 680 should have 4 bolts. But there are issues and may need to be replaced. I had a faulty one!
