Low oil in 2005 gmc canyon

My check enginge light came on, and my oil light has flashed a couple times recently... i just check my oil (warm) and my dipstick is almost dry looking...oil was changed 2900 miles ago...? what could the problem be? is it serious? where is the oil going, because it is not leaking on the garage floor

All because its not leaking doesnt mean its not burning oil, put oil in it until the full mark before driving it again. DO NOT DRIVE WITH LOW OIL!

    The oil went somewhere, if its not leaking, then it is burning a little oil. It's probably not serious, but you will need to keep a check on it from here on out. All mechanical parts will wear down, so eventually all engines will burn oil once their rings/valves/ect, get some miles on them.

gm had problems with the valves in the cylinder head getting carbon deposites on them causing them not to seal off good should be under warrenty ask your local gm dealer

I have a 2005 GMC Canyon that the battery was changed about a month in a half ago. Now, If I don't start the truck for a couple of days I have to get a jump start. What is my problem? I think the battery...


Something must be staying on or somehow draining the battery with the car off. Check to make sure lights aren't staying on, check the map lights, dome light, visor lights etc. Did you recently install any aftermarket electronic parts?
