Question about 2001 GMC Yukon XL
Pull the headrest up and where the rods go into the top of the seat you should see a little section there which you push in and pull up on the headrest while holding the retainer in with your finger

You can't its a part of the seat iv'e tryed . And then looked it up in the manual and they don't say anything about it but show a picture of it and its part of the seat . My truck is a 99 but i could fax you the schematic but if they don't say its the kind of thing that if you cut the leather off the back of the seat it might be possible to disconnect it
