Why does my 2004 Saturn Ion AC leak water into passenger side floor?

The condensation drain line has either gotten plugged or has fallen off.

The component of an A/C system that makes the air cold is called the evaporator, logically it needs to be in the air-conditioned space. In cars it's nearly always in the dashboard on the passenger side.

Warm air holds more moisture than cold air, so as air is circulated through the evaporator to cool it, the moisture in the air condenses back to liquid, like a mini rain shower in a box. That water, usually called condensate, has to go somewhere so there is a hole in the bottom of the evaporator and a tube to carry it out of the cab, through the firewall, into the engine compartment and onto the ground.

If the tube becomes plugged, condensate will accumulate until it overflows an air vent. If it comes off or cracks, the problem is obvious. It's pretty common for a condensate drain in a car to plug, junk falls into the intake vent that won't fit down the drain.

Clearing it would be simple if getting to it wasn't so involved, check your service manual for details.

My 99 Alero just shut off while driving could it be the fuel pump.

Water on the floor that doesn't come in on your feet is usually from one of two sources: a windshield rainwater leak, or a blocked or disconnected A/C condensate drain line. If the water seems to increase when it rains, a leak is more likely. If it worsens mainly when you use the air conditioning, then it is probably a condensate drain line issue. Windshield leaks can be hard to locate and fix, but blocked or disconnted drain lines are much less a problem to have fixed.

Jag x-type estate - the carpet is damp in passenger footwell. Any suggestions of problem or fix?

check for blockage in the drain hole and tube in the ac air box. IT is used to drain the condensate and becomes blocked from gunk from the air.

Condensate accumulates on the passenger side floor board when running the AC. The AC runs cold, and when we park the TC, there is no condensate pool on the ground like you would expect to see from other...

The drain for the evaporator is stopped up,use compressed air, like a air tank and a blow gun.The drain is directly below where the ac lines go into the firewall. If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Leak from air condition on floor not loosing Drain from a/c commi

There is a hose that comes through the firewall on the passenger side, it is the condensate line for the AC unit, it gets clogged up with bugs, dirt, wasps, etc, clear it out, it will flood the floor if it is blocked. It looks like a little bent rubber hose, it doesn't look like one, it is one. Check it out.

Blocked Weep Hole: Hello. I have a 2000 Ford Ranger xlt and water collects on the passenger side floor. I was told the weep hole for the a/c condensate is likely blocked. Can someone tell me where the weep...

The AC evaporator/core condensation drain tube is located on the passenger side of the fire-wall towards the bottom of the fire-wall, (it resembles a heater hose that is coming off from the fire-wall and it connects to nothing, and it is just to drain the AC condensation) and it is easily viewed from under the vehicle. Use long pipe cleaners folded in half to clean out the AC drain, and be very careful that the AC evaporator/core, or the heater core is not damaged from using any hard or sharp objects to clean out the AC drain.

Water(not anti freeze) is entering the front pass floor (filling the foam up under the carpet) of my 96 Riv. It starts in the front and moves back filling the battery compartment under the rear pass seat....

Your air conditioner evaporator condensate drain is blocked.
The condensate draintube should carry this water out through the floorpan to the ground.
Look for a kinked or blocked drain tube from under the A/C evap housing.

A/C is not draining condensate. Ck the drain under the blower housing on passenger side. Squeeze like a coin purse to open it. It's like a rubber duckbill.

Have a water leak on my 2003 Dodge Caravan on the passsenger side floorboard. I think it's that the AC hose (drain) is blocked but don't know where it is to get to it and unblock it.

Get under the car on the passenger side and look for an open ended hose, should be in line with the fire wall. Blow comprssed air up it a few times.
