98' Jeep Grand Cherokee V8

I have a 98' Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 and it was having some sputtering problems where it would act like it would run out of gas but would have plent of gas in it. Hesitating then shut off, then I could start it again. Now it has completely died. Any feed back of what this could be?

Sounds like a bad pump, filter or both. Do some testing before replacing though, a bad crankshaft sensor can do pretty much the same thing! Parts are not cheap...testing is very important!!!

Engine dies numerous times a day.

Have you thought about it possibly being the engine that has something wrong with it? Have you checked the cylinders?

  1. There is water, sand, or rust in the tank that is choking the fuel filter.
  2. Then clean the throttlebody if problem persist.
  3. In the most extreme cases the air intake and or filter maybe blocked but this is rare.

Engine revving intermittently- 98 jgc 5.2 v8

none of the above
the problem is a sensor in the transmission changing ratios so run the fault codes and check the problem
suspect that wiring or a TR ( transmission ratio) sensor is going faulty
