owners manual or the repair manual will tell you the firing order. i would recommend getting a repair manual from o'reileys if you don't currently have one. in there it will tell you the firing order for you're vehicle.

make sure you have the right firing order for the spark plug wires from the disbutor to the spark plugs. thats the most common for motor turns over and briefly fires and then dies. try looking up the firing order for the spark plug wires.
