2000 chevy silverado runs hot on incline

My truck runs hot on inclines or when I run the a/c. I have changed the thermostat and it seems to still run hot. I have changed my water pump about one year ago. It still runs hot. Also, could my water pump be bad? How can I tell if it is working? Thank you for any advice. Steve

Is the fan clutch working? Also check for something blocking the radiator. like paper or some other sort of road debris.

Cruise control on 1996 Chevy Silverado won't hold speed

Possibly a broken wire in the steering column. Wires goint through the steering column for the cruise are so fragile when the tilt is used alot causing the wires to brake. Part is $70.00 through advance auto. Cheapest I've found if you order online.

My 1996 Nissan Maxima only overheats when on incline but I can turn the heat on & it cools down immediately.

Could be the radiator fan. Running the heater adds a second source of getting rid of heat in the coolant. Is the radiator fan running when it is hot ? Are you sure the cooling system is full ?

Do you have a check engine light on? Have you done an engine control module fault code test (OBD2 control system), is fuel pressure OK under a load? Has the fuel injector spider manifold (inside the throttle bore) assembly been replaced, that is a known problem.

I'd be inclined to also change the heat sensor sendor unit that is screwed into the block of the engine, before you blow your head gasket, hope this helps.....

2000 chevy silverado v6 vortec engine, died driving, changed fuel pump, plugs wires, etc. and still wont start. ever heard of that

1st, check to see if the fuel pump runs for 3 seconds when you turn the key to run (not start). If it doesn't run, then check the fuel pump fuse & relay in fuse box under hood, if OK, (spray starting fluid in the intake to see if engine fires at all), if no fire then look towards the ignition as the problem. There are 5 things need to start an engine: 1. fuel (delivered & pressure), 2. air, 3. spark (distributor/ignition module or pickup coil), 4. rotation & timing, 5. compression. any of these that are wrong or not there, the engine fails.

Transmission shifts hard into second gear(auto trans). However, when shutting engine off and restarting, the hard shift will go away. It will come back in a few days. Doesn't seem to matter how many...

it may be a bad tps ( throttle position sensor ). it causes transmission shift issues, bucking, jerking, idle surging, engine cut off, surge while crusing down highway. if this does not solve problem, it may be a sticking valve body in transmission. have a good day !! for an automatic tranny.

Car over heats and have changed everything but water pump. Heater gets hot then turn cold

Hi, Try stopping ona steep incline--does the heater stay warm? If yes, what you have is anair bubble that hangs at the heater hose until pressure from the water pumpblows thru it as the engine speeds up. Park on an incline, open theradiator cap, run the engine until the thermostat is open, turn the heater on, crackopen any/all bleed ports to release any trapped air, and fill the radiator tothe neck. Wait until the level stops dropping and make sure bubbles don'tcontinue to come up. If they do, you may have a blown head gasket thatwill keep forming these bubbles until you change the gasket. Please let me know if you have anyquestions and thanks for using FixYa.

What gear do I use when driving on normal road in my 98 Chevy blazer

The owners manual says to use the overdrive gear under normal conditions and when pulling a trailer. You are suppose to drop down on gears only when going up a incline ( Hill ) that is causing you to accelerate drastically.

1994 Chevy Silverado temperature guage shows hot

Flushing the radiator, replacing the radiator cap, adding new coolant, replacing the sensors and a new thermostat solved the problem. Probably didn't need to do all of these things - but since we just purchased the truck, and given the fact that is probably hadn't been done in a while, we chose to do all of these things (which really didn't cost a whole lot), it's running like a charm now.
