LOW SIDE PRESSURE SIDE SHOULD HAVE 25 - 36 PSI AND HIGH PRESSURE SIDE SHOULD BE 178 - 237 PSI. IF LOW SIDE PRESSURE SIDE READ BELOW 20 PSI THE LOW PRESSURE SWITCH WILL NOT TURN ON THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH NEED TO ADD LITTLE MORE REFRIGERANT. IF REFRIGERANT LEVEL CORRECT CHECK AC COMPRESSOR FUSE AND RELAY.IF POWER GOING TO AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH YOUR COMPRESSOR CLUTCH HAS OPEN WINDING. AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH NEED REPLACING.

To find the ports, you will have to follow the high and low lines from the compressor, usually not far away, and indicated with red and blue caps on the scrader valves. The low pressure line is bigger in diameter than the high pressure line. You need to know which refrigerant is being used in this system as it could be the old R-12, which was banned. Could also be an R-12 system converted to R-134a with different high and low ports.
Basic AC system consists of Compressor pump (on engine), Condenser (front grill with radiator) and Evaporator (Firewall). Pump has two ports output (high pressure) and return (low pressure). Follow lines from pump. High side is usually between pump and condenser. Follow lines and find second port this will be low side (refill) port. Paint or replace port caps (red high, blue low). Also, refrigerant in system determines port size (R12 or R34).
refrigerant is added at the low side charging port, this port is located in the low side AC line from the AC compressor, it is the larger of the two AC lines from the AC compressor, you add until the pressure is stable at around 28-32 PSI with AC on.
There are two A/C refrigerant lines. The small line is your high pressure line and the larger line is your low pressure line.
Start at the fire wall and follow the "large " low pressure line to the compressor. The low pressure charge port will be some where on that line.
DO NOT try to recharge on the high pressure side ( small line )
