Some require specific stereo to prevent that the vehicle 's sensors from tripping and saying a fault. You & I know its the stereo installation that is the problem. Solution is make sure the stereo is grounded to prevent it from causing problems with DVD player's audio. As one may over power the other as they both fight for control of use of same speakers.

pop out the center trim piece with a flat head screwdriver. Center dash piece may be brushed aluminum or wood grain depending on trim level. It should pop out easily working all the way around it. Then radio is held in with 7mm screws.

SOURCE: where is the fuse box in the 06 chevy uplander
I have a chevy uplander and you have to open the passenger door and its on the side of the dash, to the right of the glove box. You will notice a small rounf opening with just enough room for 2 fingers to go in. the whole side will come off when you pull it.

SOURCE: DVD will not eject from movie player.
On some DVD player there is a little pinhole next to the opening or tray in case the disk or tray won't eject. You can unbend a paper clip and insert it into hole and see if it will eject. If not you will need to remove radio and have it serviced.
Your vehicle is not that old, take it to the dealer and see if your radio is still covered under warranty.
Good Luck!
