What type of refrigerant does a 1990 Ford Ranger use?

there are only two types of refrigerant (or normally called as freon): R12 and R134. R12 is designed for car model 2000 and below. though, some old car compressors can accomodate R134 provided that you change your auxillary fan (fan for your aircon condenser) since R134 is hotter than R12. Ask an aircon technician if your compressor can be charged with R134.

Most of the countries now ban the use of R12 since it is more harmful to our ozone.

How do I replace freon into 2000 Plymouth voyager I have a can and the hose I.don't know where to connect I have mo owners manual

it is usually on the wider low pressure line or the bottle near where the line goes into the firewall.

Sometimes it is in fenderwell due to lack of space to package it.

What type of freon for the 1997 plymouth grand voyager

the freon type should be a decal under the hood somewhere if its not missing as well as the amount of freon required.if no decal then if the fittings for the hose that attaches to the a/c lines are threaded then this will take R12 freon.if the fittings don`t have threading(like quick release fittings) on them then it will take R134 freon.

Type of antifreeze for a 2000 plymouth voyager?

check the color, green, blue, orange, red, but watch colors closely and if worse case scenario take a sample into your parts supplier and he can tell for sure which type you need per year of vehicle some have silicon silicates in them some dont, the green/blue arent so critical, but dont mix w/red or orange or you will end up with a radiator full of unset "jello"---sounds funny, but its not, then you'll have serious issues...good luck

Have 1990 Plymouth Voyager 3.0 6 cyl A/C cluthch froze and still has r-12 refrigerant. What is easiest and best repair

Replace compressor and convert to R134 refrigerant. The conversion kit is relatively inexpensive,as the main thing required are the conversion fittings for the high and low ports in the system.Have a shop capture the R12 refrigerant, and flush the system,a new receiver drier assembly too.Pull a vacuum, and charge with R134.

FILLING UP THE FREON IN MY 2000 NISSAN MAXIMA SE

2000 maxima is filled with R134, not freon. You don't need retro fit kit. Get couple of cans of R134 and pump it into the low side valve /small fiting, while A/C compressor is engaged. If your compressor is not coming on, jump the low side pressure switch to make the compressor come on and than the R134 will get sucked in to your system through the low side line. The proper way to do this is to put a/c system under vaccum for 15 minutes at least and watch for leak/gauges coming/loosing vaccum. Than pump R134 into the HIGH side valve with engine OFF.
