You should be able to do that, but probably it will mean a 1/8th in jack in your dash that you attach your ipod to, and you will lose your disc changer in the process. This is a very inexpensive fix ($30 or so). There is also an expensive way to do it, which will give you full funcionality with your ipod, but it's close to $1000 and I didn't want to spend that much. I just did this with my 2000 ML320, and will soon want to do it to my 2006 C280 4Matic. I suggest logging on to the Mercedes Benz Enthusiast forum at: and open an account, then punch in "ipod C320 retrofit" and other terms like that. This issue has likely been discussed on there (my ML question had complete instructions, which I can send you if you would like) and there are very helpful people who will do their best to help. It's a fantastic resource!

I own an old Philips radio set, can I fix a modern aux port onto the set to accept 7mm jack plugs?

Not sure what the gram mark would be, but the loud speaker would definitely be an output. You will need an input to add a 7mm input jack. Does the radio have an aux input setting?

If it isn't visable, you need to get an adapter, which means taking out the radio to install one. I don't think they put a visable aux input in your model until 2007.

Hi I have 2005 Toyota Corolla, which has old radio and audio cd player. Now I was thinking to replace this with new audio system with mp3 player, USB and auxiliary input options. But, dont know how to...

you can replace your CD player with the same type, or you can buy the chinese product working well that I bought for my car priced 120 USD. that is a touch screened, with MP3, USD aux input ...etc.

My radio has an aux button but the car does not have a jack for aux play? am i looking in right place or do i have to have one installed?

07 Ranger and Mustang were the first vehicles to come with a factory installed aux jack. All prior vehicles had to have one installed. I believe the Ford kit was called Trip Tunes.

Upgrading 2006 Mercury Milan's sound system with MP3 jack.

Even though your current radio has an AUX button the radio is not programmed to utilize it.
There is no 'easy' way to add the '07 Job 2 and later year model's factory Aux input.
You will need to buy an aftermarket solution. Something like this

Stereo removal guide for a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire convertible

Gently pry the surround using a plastic tool. There are two catches on the top and two on the sides at the bottom.
With the surround off, you will see the screws holding the stereo.
If there are preamp jacks in the back, it is eaxy to add an aux post using an adapter cable. If there are no input ports, you will need an oscilloscope to find the preamp circuits inside the stereo. Only do this if you know what you are doing and are good with an oscilloscope and soldering iron.

I am sorry, but the factory default radio in all 2005 cobalt models does not have auxiliary audio input jacks anywhere. I wish they did.

Thanks for using the fixya forums!

If you have no visibility of the jack on your head unit then you do not have one. Therefor if you want to run something aux you need to replace with an after market head unit with an aux jack.

2005 Chevrolet Uplander LT - Cigarette and Aux power outlet not working

if the fuse is good and there is no relay then either you have a loose ground/positve wire or the socket is bad. you can easily purchase a after market socket from Napa or Oreillys for a few dollars of the problem is not a loose wire or bad fuse. good luck please rate this solution...thanks
