Question about 2001 Plymouth Neon

1 Answer

The car suddenly stopped running and when you turn the key it makes no sound but the interior lights and radio will come on. It is not the starter, altinator, battery or timing belt.

My 89 chevy caprice won't turn over tested battery and starter all good dash lights or radio won't come on headlights and interior lights work

Sounds like a problem with the key switch since the lights are not on a circuit controlled by the key.
You may want to check the main power feed into the key switch from the starter post. There should be two or three fuseable link wires coming off the starter post going to the key switch and the fuse box.

Won't start

It ended up being corroded wiring. Apparently the wiring from the steering harness to the fuse box under the hood was corroded & had to be replaced.

It wont start ot turn over when you turn the key it dont even make a sound

Do any of the interior light work? Does the radio work? If the answer is no, then the first thing to check is the battery and its connections.
If lights, radio and other things work, then you could have a problem with ignition switch, starter solenoid, starter or a wiring issue.

My car won't start it simply keeps clicking when the ignition is turned on, turned on the lights , radio and interior light all was working what is happening

Sounds like you need to replace the battery, the battery can have enough power to run lights, stereo, and other accesories but it takes alot of amperage to power the starter motor, so if that is the case you will hear the starter solenoid clicking but no action from the starter. Good luck. !

Head lights are strong. no sound when key is turned. inside lights and radio go out, but head lights and trouble lights stay on

starter circut is not functioning. the radio and interior lights along with many other "auxillary" systems are on a switch that temporarly disables them when you start the vehicle. That system is working, the starting system sounds like it is not. Check Starter and Starting Solinoid. This applies to all Ranger, Explorer vehicles OHV 4.0, SOHC 4.0 and HO5.0 powertrains.

check to make sure yu have 12v at the battery, once you do turn the ignition to start, if nothing, check the fuse and relays that control ignition, if all is good then the click sound is coming from the starter, have the solenoid replace.

2004 Liberty will not start

the solution for your problem is your starter went out. the price for a used starter will run at about 50 to 100 dollars and for a new starter it will run at about 150 to 175 dollars.
