Question about 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis
Can a leaky rusty oil pan be replaced or repaired easily? my mechanic said the engine would have to be pulled which could cause more problems. and would cost a couple of thousand..car has 129,000 miles, runs great otherwise..he epoxied the pan but after only a few days the pan seemed to leak worse..2 drops/second..is there any kind of superglue or liquid rubber that can be brushed or sprayed on to seal the pan? hate to junk her..probably could go anothr 50,000 miles if not for pan problem live near the water and mechanic said alot of rust underneath
thanks in advance george
Sometimes you can remove the engine mounts and jack the engine up high enough to remove the pan. If it is really rusty it is hard to get any type of epoxy or metal repair to stick.
