If your motor belt is still good and the AC clutch is not loose, you need to change your Freeon Gas. It has probably leaked out. It some times happens when people open mess with stuff that releases the gas accidentally. However, they places which act professionally, they will put a little gas with some blue colored die and have you come back in 2 to 4 weeks. If you have a leak, the die shows it. Leak will be repared, more gas in put in and you'll be fine for a few years.

2003 Ford expedition front AC clicking when on hot mode.stops on cold mode and takes two three times switching hot to cold mode before it blows cold.all vents blow same temperature. Help"

Unplug the ac unit at the pump. if the prob stops it is either your ac clutch going bad, or you are low on Freon. Any auto zone or advance auto can check your freon and add if needed.

I need to add 134 to the system, it's not blowing cold

First of all, you need to check if the belt is tight, if the electric clutch is turing on and off with the switch, and if there are bubbles in the receiver/dryer cylinder sight glass.
If you add so much freon that the pump has liquid in it, it could blow it up.

But you buy freon with a short hose and valve.
Wear eye protection and gloves.
Then you attach the can to the valve on the side with the thick hose.
There will also be a valve on the skinny side hose, but do not attach freon there. That is only for measuring with a gauge.
The open the freon valve and start the engine and AC.
If the can frosts up, you can put it in a bowl of warm water.
Watch the sight glass until the bubbles stop.
Then close the freon valve.
Turn off the engine and AC.
Disconnect freon can.

Ac is only cold when driving

your freon level is probably low. also you may have a loose belt. if the refrigerant is low you will need to add a few ouces of the appropriate oil for your a/c sytem. when freon leaks out you loose oil as well. one to two ounces give or take.

The ac will temporarily blow hot air on the drivers side, but remains cold on the passenger side. any advice?

this is a sign that the a/c system might be low on freon. I would have it recharged. Asked the tech to add dye during the recharge that way if the system gets low on freon he'll be able to use ans specail black light to look for the freon leak.

Where is the valve to add refrigerant to my 2001 Ford Expedition's A/C system?...It does not blow as cold as it used to and I want to try this before bringing it in to the shop

I just did this on my f150 supercrew, which looks identical to my 2000 expedition. follow the freon lines, usually next to the battery, to the firewall. tucked against the firewall is the condensor and just above it is the low pressure access port. I topped off my freon using a kit with a pressure gauge. the before pressor was 40, and after the freon addition was 50. Made ALL the difference between a slightly cool AC and FREEZING COLD AC. Total cost with tax for the kit was just under $30. The kit inclued an 18 oz refill container (17 oz freon + 1 oz synthetic lubricant in the can) and reusable hose/pressure guage.
