For a Nissan Quest, it is in the distributor. Not serviceable, replace distributor. Famous for nearing failing and getting brown dust on optical sensor for camshaft sensor. buy on ebay for $200. Cleaning optical sensor is temp repair.

Call dealer & see if yours is there too.

Sensor A is the sensor for the engine cylinder bank that is closest to the radiator.. I have attached a link you need to look at that shows the diagrams of the sensors, the sensor A is the one next to the nipple that the upper radiator hose connects to and is labeled "Bank Two" in the diagram.

well it will be on the front or along the camshaft somewhere so just look for the wires on the head somewhere ,do not know offhand as only ever see the diesel ones here ,too much tax on fuel to allow the luxury of a petrol engine

Camshaft censer are there two are macanic said they are not working

Yes, your 2004 Nissan Quest is equipped with 2 camshaft position sensors. If your computer is setting OBD fault codes for BOTH sensors, it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that both of your cam sensors are bad. You most likely have a timing issue like a broken timing chain guide or camshaft phaser (IVT) that is not functioning properly.

1997 nissan quest camshaft sensor where is it & how to replace it

The camshaft sensor is located inside the distributor and is part of it, in order to replace it you must replace the distributor,to replace remove the dist cap. mark the location of the rotor,by marking where its pointing to, then mark the dist housing, so now theres a mark on the rotor and housing to show where rotor points, next mark the location of dist going into housing, mark the shaft and the block, because it spins in block this way you can line back up.next remove hold down bolt and pull out, mark the new dist in exacat same spots as the old so you can install back the same, you may have to put it in and pull it out until your marks are lined up,this way the timing will be dead on, when done you can check timing. good luck

Where is the camshaft positioning sensor located in the 2004 nissan quest

Your 2004 Nissan Quest is most likely to be equipped with a 3.5L V-6 engine. This engine has 2 Cam (PHASE) sensors. One is located in the back of each cylinder head. You must remove your intake air duct to see them.

Go to Auto Zone, get a Haynes manual on this vehicle. It will tell you where it's at and also help you with future problems.
