Did the "CHECK ENGINE" light illuminate (MIL = Malfunction Indicator lamp) when this happens? If so, the code reader is your FIRST step! If you didn't get a MIL, I suspect your Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) has gone bad. If you don't know how to bench test the TPS, find someone who does (using an analog ohm meter to detect bad spots in the potentiometer).

2003 ford taurus trouble codes 302 and 316

The error code 302, means misfiring at cylinder 2 while code316 means misfiring detected in first 1000 revolutions. The reason for misfiring may be faulty spark plug, faulty plug ground connection or can be damaged wires.

2003 Audi A6 allroad, seems to be misfiring, idles extremely rough, check engine light flashing and will not accelerate, could this be the coil packs and spark plugs?

Yes the coil pack is a common problem But you should take the car to a place like Auto Zone where they will read the fault codes to see why the check engine light came on. Then you'll have a better idea of what the problem is. It will tell you which cyl. is causing the missing.

My 03 Element Check Engine light came on as we were getting onto the highway. We were accelerating to highway speed and it sort of "hiccupped" and then the light came on and stayed on. Any thoughts?

You now have an error code in memory. Some auto parts stores will loan you a code reader, or help you with a reader to get that code. It will help greatly in diagnosing the problem. The code reader can also reset the light for you. FYI: misfire is a common fault. Old spark plugs and wires often are the culprit. Best of luck!

Hesitation when accelerating. when tac is over 2K RPM the car runs o.k. but the vehicle shakes and rattles when accelerating under 2K RPM. someone said it may be the TPS but I am thinking it could be the...

Sounds like misfire... Did the 'Check Engine' Light come ON? Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE and perhaps eventually fix the problem.
