You could have a problem with the wiring to the blower motor. My mom has a 2006 Tahoe that would only blow out any air when it wanted to. Turns out, some how a wire going to the motor popped out and was grounding itself on another wire. If I were you I would take it in to have it looked at before spending the money on buying a new blower motor.

How do I get fire to an AC compressor I just replaced on an 2001 Chevy Z-71 5.3?

Did you fill the system with refrigerant? That system should take 1.8 pounds. Next place to check is the low pressure cycling switch. It's the switch on the accumulator (big round silver thing on the fire wall on the passenger side).

Good luck.

dont take your truck to a parts changer. a good mechanic would find what wrong befor he changes a part. I had the same problem with a older chevy truck. it was the stuped electronic control on the dash.chevy wanted over 100.00 for a new one so i installed a toggle switch to turn on A/C compressor worked great.

Sounds as if there may be a vacuum leak somewhere, possibly behind dash causing it to switch back and forth from hot to cold and vise versa

Has the ac system wiring been by passed or rerouted? You need to ask who ever installed compressor if they did ant thing like that.If for sure they didn`t,then it would have to be in the ac control.Does it have automatic ac control?Push button, digital display? If so,replace the ac control,If I can help, let me know.>>roniecon@gmail.com

You will have to have the dealer reset the security light to restart vehicle.Check all engine and chassie grounds because this is where the lighting would exit the vehicle. It sounds like a ground burnt through.
