Usually a bad crank sensor or a bad ecu computer.

Check your gas cap for tighness / damage

P1494 means Leak Detection Pump Switch or Mechanical Fault - This code appears when there's an issue with the EVAP System (fuel tank fumes) This can be caused by a improperly secured gas cap, faulty gas cap, crack in the vacuum line, etc.

P0700 means there is a transmission fault code in the transmission controller. Since the transmission controller doesn't have a light attached, it tells the engine controller to turn the light on using this code. You'll have to access the transmission controller to further diagnose the problem.

if the gas cap is on properly and the light is still on , then you need to replace it. the light means that there is gas vapor leaking from it

You will need an OBD (onboard diagnostics) handset to read and or reset the codes. It would be good to know why the lamp came on to aviod and break downs possible in your future. They are available in any automotive store or even the auto section of many major Dept. stores. they generally include a code book or sheet to decode the reason for the light coming on. you may not be able to reset the light with out resolving the issue causing it to come on.

Check the Fuel Pump Relay, it may be malfunctioning and need replaced. Also, in some vechicles, if the batter is disconnected and reconnected, the service engine light will come on from time to time, going off and on simultaneously. Have a diagnostics done to see if any codes show up. If no codes appear, then have them all cleared and drive for another 200 miles. Sometimes the computer will need to be cleared a couple times before the light will stay off. Make sure that all fuses and relays are good, and securey in place. Check all factory installed lights to make sure they are good, and securly in place as well.

Yes it can be caused by low quality fuel, and your gas cap not being installed properly. Best bet is the gas cap, so take it off and screw it back on. Then take your vehicle to autozone and hook up diagnostics to clear your MIL.
