Question about 2002 Chevrolet Malibu
The check engine light came on in the caar. took the car to get it scanned at an auto parts store and the scanner showed two possible problems. 1 Failed canister purge solenoid and 2 failed fuel tank pressure sensor. I am unsure how to diagnois the problem further and do not want to just start replacing parts because the computer said that I should. Thanks for any help that you can give me
The computer never tells you what to replce jsut the symptoms and whats malfunctioning, what is happening is it can't pressureize the fuel tank and canister purge valve, so i could be as simple as a bad gasket on the fuel tank or a dirty canister check valve or a broken hose on the purge canister so check these things first.
