Question about 2001 Ford Taurus

1 Answer

2001 taurus will not start.

I would turn the key but nothing happened. All of the lights worked but it would not turn over. I found a fuse blown in the 10 amp fuse box under the dashboard. I changed that and it started right up.

It has blown twice, but I can not figure out what the fuse goes to exactly. It is not marked anywher in the car and I can not figure it out with the books.

If that fuse always blow out then you have a short circuit in your electrical lines.

you can check which one of the parts of the car that does not function when the fuse is busted, then you will know where to check or it could also be the wire from shifting lever is being caught with the lever mechanism.

2001 Lincoln ls no crank no start no power to gages aint got ne lights that work when you turn key on nothing. Happens besides air bag light stays on

Not familiar with security systems, but could be a blown fusible link, or bad Ignition switch. Test for current to switch and if none (usually bid red wire) check for blown fusible links near starter big wire or battery +.

Went to start my 99 ford escort and lights came on and chimes as normal went to turn key and heard a little pop sound. Then no lights no start nothing. Please help I'm stranded

if it did this when the starter motor was engaged when this happened then it would be that that is a fault and it has blown the main fuse in the engine bay fuse box. could also of damaged the ignition relay in main fuse box.

Mom's 2001 Taurus SES has

Usually with heat issues, electrical components are affected. It may be fuel pump relay, found in the relay box under the hood. CHeck also if you have spark when this happens during start. If there is no spark your ignition system may be faulty. Inspect first the hi tension wire for loose connections. A bad distributor means no or intermittent signal will be detected by the computer from it and in turn it will not activate the fuel pump. It could be either one of the said issues or both may be the cause.

Replaced fuse on my 2001 for taurus and heat and lights on dash are out. what could be the problem?

maybe you replaced the wrong fuse. or the dash light bulbs are blown, not very likely that all blown at once so you may have only replaced the wrong fuse. if you do not have fuse location, then check them all. under dash drivers side fuse panel. you'r main engine fuses are located under the hood but have nothing to do with your dash lights. hope this helps and thank you for choosing

2001 Taurus just died on road. I check the battery, alternator and they checked out ok. I did find a blown 30A fuse for the PCM. When the ignition key is turned I get nothing, not even the "solenoid...

Under the radiator cover there is a box with a rectangular plug. This is the constant control relay module (CCRM). Replace this part. It's available at the dealer. This controls the power to the ignition and fuel systems. Why Ford installed this electrical component above the radiator is still a mystery to me.
