Question about 2000 Hyundai Sonata
Occasionally when at a standstill at traffic lights etc the idle will increase to 3 or 4k without having foot on the accelerator and wont go down until I either turn off the engine (and wait upto 5mins for it to restart) or take off at this high rev and it'll eventually go away. It doesnt make a difference if the engine is cold/hot or what the weather is like etc
I've taken it to the mechanic and they said its probably the idle speed control motor so they took it off, inspected it found it to be ok but it still occurs. They've had the car twice and so far they haven't experienced what I've experienced and therefore unable to fully diagnose the problem.
I love my Sonata but it has got to the stage where I dont trust driving her beacuse I have no way of knowing when this will occur again
Any help would be appreciated
