Question about 2002 Nissan Altima

2 Answers

2004 Chevy Trailblazer - Randomly the liftgate does not unlock. Have to crawl in the back and manually release the lock through the small access hole. Doesn't seem to matter how many times I cycle through the LOCK/UNLOCK process or whether I use the remote or the door lock switch.

That's one of those thing you will need to look at. check the electric solenoid to make sure it has a good ground and "hot" connection. Also make sure that the lock mechanism is operating freely and not binding.

How to pop hood from outside of 2004 chevy trailblazer

You cannot release the bonnet from the outside.

In any case the key should open the driver's door manually. You will need to turn it either once or twice in succession. If it will not open then pull on the handle and turn the key in the lock at the same time.

Why my venture chevy 2005 liftgate wont open?

Likely a bad lock actuator in the lift gate.

If you look carefully you will find a manual release for it in the back. (You will have to crawl back there.)

My GMC Denali Yukon XL rear hatch will not open. I tried the inside lock and the remote lock too. What else can I do to open it?

What year is it?
It may have an issue with the liftgate actuator... probably inoperative from what you\'re saying. You can open the liftgate manually, but it typically involves crawling into the rear cargo area with a handful of tools, pulling the rear trim panel off the liftgate from the inside, and then releasing the latch to open the liftgate, and then diagnosing the problem. It\'s a pain.

2000 Mercury Mountaineer rear liftgate handle is broken, how can I open it?

either crawl into back or if u have split gate where window opens u have to remove the little plastic access cover {on rear panel}and in the hole push against the rod to open ...once opened u can remove the rear panel and lube and or repair the clips that actuate the lock and release rods

My service engine light is coming on and then my oil gauge and thermostat gauge goes crazy. I just had a new thermostat and map senosor put in.

Take the truck to a place like Autozone to have them read the code the engine light is producing. Usually done for free. At this point, we can help narrow it down with the codes. As for the gauges going haywire, TB's have a problem with te stepper motors on the back of the instrument cluster, these little inexpensive motors, may need to be replaced. OR you could have a problem with your ignition switch.

When i use the key fob to lock the doors the back glass dont lock, ???????

This solution applies to models:
2002-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, Trailblazer EXT and Trailblazer SS
2004-2007 Buick Rainier
2002-2007 GMC Envoy, Envoy XL, and Envoy Denali
2002-2004 Oldsmobile Bravada
2005-2007 Saab 9-7x

Condition/Concern:
Rear liftgate glass will not lock when using the key fob or door switch unless the lock button is pressed a second time. All other doors will lock normally. This could be the result of the liftgate glass lock rod not adjusted correctly. This lock rod travels from the liftgate lock actuator to the glass release push-button cylinder.

Recommendation/Instructions:
Remove the inside rear liftgate trim panel. Disconnect the threaded lock rod clip at the end of the push-button glass release and rotate this clip 1 complete turn at a time making the lock rod longer. This will be the only threaded lock rod visible when the trim panel is removed and the liftgate is raised.
Note: For the rear glass to release, the rear liftgate latch must be in the closed position. For test purposes only, this latch can be made closed to make this lock rod adjustment.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

The back liftgate glass won't lock when the vehicle is locked. How do I get it to lock?

I removed the trim and then operated the lock manually by pulling up on the locking bar that runs from the liftgate lock to the glass operator. Not the ultimate solution but it will work until I get a replacement module.

Liftgate emergency release cannot be found

2/3 of the way down this page with pictures

http://www.wjjeeps.com/liftgate.htm

All WJs feature an emergency unlock/lock switch lever for the liftgate. Should the liftgate become locked and unable to be opened due to a switch or circuit failure, a manual unlock/lock lever is accessible behind a small panel on the interior trim panel. As shown in the photos above, the lever can be moved up or down to unlock or lock the liftgate door.

Rear hatch stuck

Emergency trunk release if you need it open now. from there you could try to fix the problem or take it to your dealer, you may still be under warranty 1. Remove trim plug to expose the access hole in the trim panel. The access hole is located on the inside of the liftgate. 2. Use a tool (flathead screwdriver) to reach through the access hole in the trim panel. 3. Pry the left release lever up to the unlock position. Pry the right release lever up to unlatch the liftgate. 4. Reattatch the trim plug. this information can be found on page 2-13 of your owners manual
