The key must make metal contact to work or tr the anti theft device won't activate go to a paint store and buy a small can of paint cleaner for oil based paint. dip the metal part of the key for an hour before removing it, then wipe clean, thisshould fix your problem if not get back to me and I will give yo a couple more tips.

any real answer yet? did the problem ever get resolved? i have the same problem with my sister's car. too cold to diagnose tonight, but will post the solution probably tomorrow. since the lights and heater works, but ignition and radio arent getting power, my first guess is there's probably a fried fusible link which controls the 2nd accessory power to the ignition switch. will post a solution soon.

Key broken in suzuki swift 1998 ignition switch

If a fine pick won't work you could try super-glue carefully applied between the broken halves, or if the key is ferrous (steel) try a neodymium magnet (which you can find in an old hard-drive).

Both keys won't turn igination on my 2006 Honda Accord.....what to do???

Try slightly turning your steering wheel while turning the key. ( Your wheel will be locked but should still be able to move a bit. Don't force the key too much or you could break it, and make things much worse. If that doesn't work your ignition may be defective.

My key won't turn the ignition, husband used HIS key last night and van worked fine, this morning... interior lights and door dinger works but dashboard lights don't come on, the steering wheel won't turn...

Could be a couple of things.
When you try to turn your key try releasing the pressure on the column by moving the steering wheel left or right. It should move a little and may be causinf enough pressure to prevent the key from turning.

Take your husband's key and have a duplicate made from it.

Key broke off in ignition

use a toothpick with a tiny drop of super glue on the end - touch the glue end to the end in the ignition, and let it dry for a few - make sure the key is in the off position, and try to pull it out using the toothpick.
