There is a plastic cap at your brake pedal which suppose to press to the switch when you release the pedal, it might be worn out.

1997 nissan pathfinder le 3.3l - Brake lights won't turn off - replaced stop switch and relay combo already. any ideas?

The brake switch will stop all current to the brake lights. As soon as the brake pedal moves just off of its fully up position, the switch makes contact and passes current on to the brake lights. You can operate it by hand to check if everything is right. izzit adjustable? The switch is the last thing in the path to the brake bulbs, so it has to work right, right off the brake pedal!

My acura 2003 3.2 TL brake lights have stopped working

Most brake light circuits involve the brake light switch on the brake pedal and the turn signal switch. You may need to get a wiring diagram to trace it.

OKAY WHAT ELSE HAVE YOU ALREADY DONE?
AS IN THE ONE ANSWER THAT WAS PROVIDED:
HAVE YOU CHECKED FOR VOLTAGE AT THE BULBS?
IF THERE IS VOLTAGE ---CHANGE THE BULBS!
IF THERE IS NO VOLTAGE AND INOW YOU ARE SAYING THERE IS VOLTAGE COMING OUT OF THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH THEN YOU HAVE:
A SHORT IN THE WIRING BETWEEN THE SWITCH AND THE BULBS.
YOU CAN USE THE COMMENTS SECTION OF THE POSTED PROBLEM AND ANSWER GIVEN TO RESPOND.

check under your steering column brake switch has to be loose and when you push the gas pedal something in that area is touching the brake switch causing lights to come on.

1997 gmc 3500, no brake lights, already changed the brake light switch. still have same problem. i have running lights and turn signals, and flashers. can anyone help me fix this?

Hello , do you have amber colored turn lenses or red? I ask this because maybe the bulbs are not dual filament type in the brake light socket. There maybe a brake light fuse also. Do you have a third brake light as well? Does it work? Quinn , Arizona

My brake lights arent working!

Normally you'll find a brake switch at arm of brake pedal, up under dash. Switch should have 12v going in one side, when pedal not pushed, and both sides when pedal is pushed.
