I'm assuming it's a gm car. I had this happen on every gm car I owned that was fuel injected. The fuel sending unit is bad, reads wrong. You should replace the pump as well. If the budget is tight..put a piece of black tape on the line before the "e" & never park on a hill & you'll be fine. Sounds like a smart *** answer but it's true.

What is wrong - The fuel gauge on my YP125R X-Max is constantly showing full

A constantly full fuel gauge is usually caused by a short circuit on the sensor wire. Check the wiring by isolating the wire as near as possible to the fuel gauge. Measure with an Ohm meter between the wire and earth, the reading should be more than 10 and less than about 200k. A short is indicated by a reading of around 0 Ohms, depending on the accuracy of your meter.
A second possibility is the sender unit in the fuel tank which could be faulty, and then finally, and only finally, the head gauge could be faulty.

What's wrong when the engine dies while driving a"?"

Many possible reasons: air and fuel filter blockages, check and replace as necessary. Electrical fault in ignition system, take car for a full electrical and electronics diagnostics check. This problem may be the result of any of various old and failing components. Check specifically the sensor inside the distributor (electronic ignition)! This is known to give "intermittent" fault symptoms.

Fuel guage reads empty and low fuel light is on

{: ) If the fuel tank is actually low in fuel, this will be a normal thing. You can also check for fuel leaks. But for example, the last time you remembered it was at half level and after driving for a few miles, you made a stop for some reason, and off course you were expecting that you still have more fuel remaining to take you home or elsewhere. When you start the car again, the gauge suddenly reads empty. This is a classic symptom of a failing fuel level sensor that needs to be replaced.
An engine light may or may not come on. A better option is to check the vehicle using a scan tool to retrieve and clear codes that may have set, Usually, when the engine computer detects a fault in the fuel system, it will set a code, and the fuel gauge will default to zero regardless if your tank is actually full or half. The scan tool can also monitor and determine if the fault is from your gauge, the fuel level sensor, or from the engine control module.
Wiring problems, although very unlikely, can be a possible cause too especially if the vehicle was previously serviced or repaired, and some wire or connector could have been knocked off accidentally or neglected afterwards.

hi it can really only be two things, first is the fuel sender on the pump inside the tank it could be stuffed or sticking causing a false reading, second it can also be a faulty fuel gauge on the dash.

Your problem is the fuel gauge sending unit. It needs to be replaced. Another benefit of owning the durable festiva is the access panel under the back seat. You don't have to drop the tank to fix this problem.

2002 Chevy Suburban: Fuel gauge reads empty, tank is half full

Youre gauge is controlled by a plunger in the fuel tank which is attached to the sensor and the fuel gauge. it sounds like when the plunger goes down half way its either getting stuck down lower then it should. Needs replacing. Any mechanic can do this install for you.
