Question about 1991 Nissan 300ZX

2 Answers

I thank you all for all your advice first of all. But obviously there are a lot of problems with my car, and now the biggest problem is my speedometer doesn't work. I bought a new speed sensor because someone said if my cruise control doesn't work either that it's probably the speed sensor. Only problem now is i don't know where the speed sensor is located? A little help PLEASE!!! thank you.

The speed sensor is on the transmission near the front tires on the pass. side. Simple to change at home.

1. Jack the car up in front pass side (be sure to use stands as well)
2. Locate the sensor near front tires by pass side on tranny. Its above the exhaust pipe.
3. Unclip the wires and remove 2 bolts holding it in place.
4. Remove sensor. Can be tricky, its in a tight space. It will come almost all the way out but to completely remove it you will need to move the exhaust pipe to the side about a 1/2inch. I put a crow bar between the tranny and exhaust to move to the side during removal/installation.

Thats it! 20 min job, another person will make it easier when holding exhaust to the side.

as for the cruise control, its located on the top. In the middle of your engine, towards the front, you should see 2 cables. The one on the right is your throttle cable, the one to the left is for your A.S.C.D. , automatic speed control device, aka cruise control

2003 Pontiac Vibe - 4 Cyl. 150k miles. Ignition coils keep going bad - every 4-6k miles. Coil 1 has been replaced 4 times, Coil 3 once. Coil 4 twice in the past year (20k miles). All spark plugs

Install new spark plugs, 4 new coils & replace the oxygen sensors

O2 Sensors are only good for 100,000 miles, then slow
down or quite

No idea why the coils do not last 5 or 6 years

Cylinder #1 is always at the front on a 4 cyl

Go to Rock Auto --Buy Wells Coils,NGK Double
Platinum Plugs & NTK O2 Sensor

Those parts are expensive because you have a Totota

My car is a Suzuki XL7 year 2002. I have the following problem: I get the warning signal "service the engine soon", but..., the engine continues working perfectly well (I have driven over 360 km with this...

Those type of lights on the dash of a vehicle, have been on vehicles for 30 years,so why are you unaware of the issue?
You have a possible system failure.
You need to get the code, then diagnose and repair.
There a lot of Suzuki dealers in the US. You don't ever need any dealer, for any auto repairs. We have over 200,000 repair shops in the US

Any of you guys ever hear of someone swapping the stock engine in a 2003 GMC Yukon Denali for a Duramax/Allison? From what I hear the computer is the biggest problem? Thanks!

Yes, it's doable, but the entire engine wiring must be swapped also. Connecting it back will be a very long and tedious job, that will require a lot of time and a hefty price.

How to get more mileage

The biggest factor is going to be your driving habits. Slower accelerations and longer smoother stops and highway speeds closer to 55mph than 80+ will make a big difference. Of course highway driving will always be better than stop and go driving. It takes much less fuel to maintain a speed than it does to accelerate to it.
There are a lot of gimmick products out there that are exactly that, gimmicks. The biggest factor and easiest to control is the operator of the vehicle.

My turn signals are out. and its not the lamps. someone suggested a device under the dash near the steering wheel. if not does any one have advice. this car is the biggest pain in the kazoo. thanks...

There is a panel that drops down under the steering wheel. It's usually held up with a wingnut or a screw. Once you've loosened the panel and it drops down, you will see the flasher unit that needs replacing.

1990 Lincoln continental fan will not work manual or auto

check your temperature sending unit. this is the one that triggers the fan once the engine is in hot condition.

hot condition would be the needle just past the middle of the gauge.

BUT, if you have your air conditioning on, these fans should run at the same time the compressor is on.

this fan is waiting for two things. A/C is on, and engine is hot.

tnx 4 using fixya,
