I have an 88 Cadillac devile thats squirts coolant from a bolt and was wondering how to do that job

That bolt hole apparently is passing into your cooling system (water jacket) , which is common.. To seal it, the bolt and hole must be clean and dry. Squirt or flush out with aerosol carb cleaner and while at the parts store pick up some Loctite brand Loc n Seal bolt thread sealer. The coolant level must be below the bolt hole or the sealer won't take. Put some on the bolt thread and install bolt and tighten. Give the sealer 30 minutes to set up and refill the cooling system. Loc n seal is the blue loctite and comes in a small tube. fill the threads but don't waste the expensive woder. It is a liquid and will spread evenly as you screw the bolt in. Done deal. Cadillac deville pouring transmission fluid


transmission lines to radiator is leaking. The radiator will help cool the transmission fluid in most vehicles, and these lines can get crimped or become loose during normal vehicle maintence. Replace the lines and connectors, and recheck transmission fluid level. MIght just be a loose connection you could possibly tighten up. Busted or cracked radiator?

Antenna not working/92 cad


I would check there might be a fuze for the automatic pop up antenna and mabe squirt some wd40 around the antenna hole it might be stuck

Windshield washer stays on too long in my cts 2007


Do you have one of those washers that wants to wsh the whole car for yu when you only need the window done? I am thinking it is in the switch that you push or turn to make it squirt. I will venture a squirt of WD 40 in the switch will solve this problem? Just something you can try, Please give me a good thunbs up for the guess if you please. I need to replace a water pump in a 2003 cadillac devile


weel its on the drivers side of the engine and ruuns off of a small belt that runs off the camshaft,there is a specialty socket for the waterpump that will make this job much easier,the socket is about $50

Per Chilton's Repair Manual: You're dealing with aluminum so pay careful attention not to exceed recommended torque.

4.5L And 4.9L Engines
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain and recycle the engine coolant.
  3. Remove the air filter assembly. Disconnect and remove the coolant recovery tank.
  4. Disconnect and remove the cross brace.
  5. Remove the water pump pulley bolts.
  6. Remove the serpentine drive belt and the water pump pulley.
  7. Remove the water pump-to-engine bolts and the pump.

To install:
  1. Clean the gasket mounting surfaces.
  2. Place a new gasket over the water pump studs.
  3. Install the water pump. Tighten the water pump bolts as follows:
    1. Water pump-to-engine Torx® bolts to 30 ft. lbs. (40 Nm)
    2. Water pump-to-engine stud nuts to 5 ft. lbs. (7 Nm)
    3. Hex head bolts to 30 ft. lbs. (40 Nm)
    4. Remaining hex head bolts to 5 ft. lbs. (7 Nm).
  4. Install the water pump pulley. Install the water pump pulley bolts finger-tight.
  5. Install the serpentine drive belt.
  6. Tighten the water pump pulley bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
  7. Install the cross brace.
  8. Install and connect the coolant recovery tank. Install the air filter assembly.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10. Fill cooling system and check for leaks. Start the engine and allow it to come to normal operating temperature. Recheck for leaks. Top-up the coolant.

My 2001 cadillac devile is runnign hot


i have a 1995 cadillac deville,and the computer used to say engine hot. Took it to my mechanic. Turns out it was the radiator was messing up and it was sending coolant to the transmission. Had it changed, and now it runs like new.
