I have 1998 hyundai excel twin cam l have just put cams out of 1999 excel and it sound like it has a lumpy cam now at lidle. Now my car smells like unburnt fuel.can this be from cam not being in right at...

double check all youre timing marks . loosten tentioner and adjust cam.then tighten chain .manually turn motor over twice then check timing marks again this is a little tricky sometimes because when you tighten the tentioner the cam will move. you have to have the chain in a spot to compensate for this movement.

Excel sprint clutch problem

The probable cause can be loose bleed screw which connects the clutch cable to transmission. On tightening the screw may solve the problem.

I have a 1994 hyundai excel..and i keep loosing clutch flid but i dont know why or i cant see where. I keep filling it up but it keeps going completely empty??

pull back the rubbers on the master and slave cylinders see if they are wet with fluid behind them, top up with fluid and get a friend to press the peddle while you check out for leaks, if its losing all the fluid it shouldnt be hard to see

Hyundai excel twin cam manual clutch repair

If you don't have the service manual specifically for the vehicle and the proper tools to do the task, i'd suggest taking it to the shop instead. It wouldn't be worth all the trouble. But in case your in need of a service manual, may i suggest going to ebay and checking to see if someone is selling the manual on cd for 99 cents. It may sound like a scam or something because service manuals on cd at the dealer average $150-$200. But if one is offering the manual for 99 cents, buy it. It's actually like a copy of the one they sell at the dealership, so before you start on that difficult task, i advise in purchasing a service manual. If they don't have it on ebay, go to your local auto parts store and buy one for $25. The name would be either Haynes or Chilton. Good luck.

Correct way to align timing marks

hi -- the timing marks on a twin cam are tricky!! heres how- turn the motor over to tdc on the bottom pulley, this will align two marks on the lower cog-----now on the top cog,it has an obvious mark near the teeth-- well disregard this for now!! the cog has a hole in it,in one of the spokes, well this goes at 12 o,clock and lines up with a mark you will see on the housing! now if you are right you will see the mark near the teeth is at around 4,oclock---i just did one and it is right--cheers

1998 Hyundai excel. Engine stops when car is warm and will not restart until engine cools down. Seems to loose spark.

Thanx, have fixed the problem now... wasn't the computer lol. It was the crankangle sensor.... thank you all for your help.
