98 ford explorer wont turn over, changed altenator and battery, fuel pump, cranky sensor and filter, still wont start

If the Brake pedal switch is the sensor you are referring to, then my solution is redundant. If not, then it is probably your problem. Check your brakelights by pressing the brakes. The signal is needed to allow the engine to crank.

This is a safety type lockout. The idea is to prevent runaway starts. They want to insure that your foot is on the brake before you try starting the engine or putting the vehicle in gear. This part is often hit by a Drivers feet and broken or shifting out of position.

Power to fuel injectors initaly but not in run position on 1994 4liter

If the fuel injectors don't work when in the run or cranking position the computer may not be getting a signal from the crankshaft position sensor.

Does the service engine soon light become lit when the car is in the run position before starting it?

I'm a little bit confused because the title says '2001 Ford Explorer' and the text says '1994 4 liter'.

IT WILL CRANK & IDEL BUT SMOTHERS DOWN WHEN YOU PUT IT IN GEAR, WE HAD THE FUEL FILTER, AIR FLOW PUMP PUT ON NEW LAST WEEK HAS RUN 4 DAYS, HAS SAME PROBLEM. SPENT $431.50 .

I would change the EGR valve..........And run some carb or injection cleaner through a tank of gas depending on if the engine is carb or fuel injection...Hope this helps.

Starting problems

Sounds like your battery has gone south. If you can jump it to start and it continues to run then it is just running off the alternator. The battery can no longer store power. That is why you can't get it to start when you turn it off. It requires an alternate power source to crank the engine until the alternator kicks in to power the ignition. Have the battery load tested with a good carbon pyle load tester.

Engine turns, catches, then dies

Could be the ignition switch. When you crank the engine, the ignition coil gets a voltage source that is different than when the car runs. This would give you the symptom you describe.
