Question about 1991 Chevrolet C1500

2 Answers

I have 1991 chevy 1500 with a 4.3, when I turn the A/C on the engine vibrates. When I put it in neutral is almost stops. My compressor is making noise too. Do I need to replace the compressor, clutch or something else.

It sounds like yes you do and if you do this yourself make sure to replace dryer and oriface tube.very likely it is coming apart internally and will send trash into system

Sounds like the AC compressor is coming apart, replace it, i would do the clutch as well, many aftermarket rebuilds come with a new clutch

Vibration in rear end

There are several other things which can make a noise. The people you showed the car have the advantage of hearing or feeling the noise that we do not have a chance to do.

A catalytic noise can change with the engine RPM. You can rev up the engine in Park or Neutral and should be able to replicate the noise. If not, then you have a moving part making the noise.

Sometimes the Emergency brake material comes loose from the metal backing and jams inside the rear drum/rotors. It will cause vibration when pulling away from a stop, and eventually will grind into powder.

Rear axle differential clutches. There are friction disks inside some types of rear-ends. A special lube additive makes these work. Sometimes a refill of additive and lube can make marginally performing units more quiet.

U-joints can make noise and vibrate. Its another moving part noise.

The fan clutch can also make noise and vibration. The A/C compressor and compressor clutch bearing can make noise. The A/C clutch operates intermittently depending on pressure and temperature.temperature.

1996 Dodge Ram 1500 vibration while driving only felt from drivers seat

No the idle issue is not the TPS, it is a sludged up throttle valve and automatic idle speed control air bypass valve. The procedure below should cure the idle issue. As far as the vibration goes this needs a hands on diagnosis by a good noise and harness trained tech, tire shops are good for this technican as well of course the Dodge dealer. Find below the cleaning procedure for the throttle valve and idle valve
Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (it is made by CRC) from the local auto parts store, NEVER USE CARB CLEANING SPRAY, IT DESTROYS THE ANTI-STICK TEFLON COATING, spray it into the air intake through the throttle body of the engine until you have used about half the can, you will need to hold the idle up while you do this, it will try to stall, after this shut the engine down and disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable for 5 minutes. The intake is now clean, if you continue to have the idle speed control problems you may need to seek the help of a professional

99 Z-71 extended cab. Cracking or Clanking when accelerating from stop. Vibration when accelerating while moving. Vibration while brakeing. Clanking starts back up when speed is lower and almost stopped....

Most likely the U-Joints. It shouldn't be driven until they are fixed. You can check them by crawling under the truck and simply grabbing the driveshaft and turning it with your hand. You'll be able to see right away if they are tight or sloppy. Any slop at all means the U-joints are bad. Make sure to set the parking brake first and put the truck in neutral before crawling under it.

I replaced my transmission in my 99 chevy silverado 1500 4X4. When I turn the key now it does nothing, I replaced the Park Neutral Safety Switch and still won't do anything. Everything is hooked up. Any...

pretty hard one.
First check th e bellhousing to make sure no wires got caught.
Check starter for broken wires.
Put emergency on and adjust linkage for the stops to be correctly aligned.go underneath and loosen the 1/2 bolt on the linkage make sure trans is in park and move until it can't go up any more.
.
That's
your starting point. now put gear shifter in neutral. feel the play in thetop
then in the bottom. you must equalize these distances so same loosness up / down..
If that doesn't work write back.

WHENEVER I MAKE A RIGHT TURN MY 1991 CHEVY LUMINA STOP....I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND IT STARTS RIGHT UP...

Sounds like you have power wire touching the frame when you turn right. Jack up the front end, turn the wheels and look around.
