I am leaking antifreeze. It does not leak all the time. When it does, there is a small puddle and I need to add more antifreeze. Sometimes just a little and some times more. I am concerned it is going to be significant cost. Any insight how bad it could be?

Usually about the same as is on the floor. Maybe a little more at times. It pools up by the front of the motor, I would say by the driver side.

With the engine cold, open the radiator cap and watch . If it's a water pump seal then it should be addressed As any other leak, as soon as possible.

My 07 impala is losing anti freeze but nobody can find a leak anywhere how can i solve this problem

if cant find any spots on the ground an you're still losing anti-freeze, from my experience its always been the headgasket, if the headgasket isnt fully blown out your car will seem like its running fine an burn the antifreeze up during the combustion stroke of the engine, or it could be leaking onto the exhaust. check to see if theres any puddles of anti-freeze on top of the engine an check for leaks around the heads. if there is no puddles of leaks it could be your antifreeze is leaking into the engine an burning up during the combustion stroke

2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z-71. Coolant loss with no noticeable puddles or wet connections.

First- When was the last time you checked it & it was full?
Second- Is a lot missing (1/2 gallon)?
Third- check the oil dipstick for any antifreeze in there or any white smoke from the exhaust, that would indicate a possible head gasket leak.
Fourth- Do you smell antifreeze inside the truck? Look for a small leak under the glove box in the dashboard for the heater core.
Hope this helps

95 Pontiac Grand Prix, 120 K, leaking antifreeze (small puddles after 1-2hr parked @ curb). Original owner/original radiator. Not a DIY-type. Advice ??

You need to pressure test the cooling system and then inspect for the source of the leak. If you are not a DIY, take it to a shop.

Strong antifreeze smell when running the heater in 99 silverado, can't see a leak, strong smell, is heater core bad

Usually a smell of antifreeze in the cab when the heater is running is a sign the heater core is leaking. Just becasue you dont see a leak at this time doesn't mean there isn't one. It might small enough that the haet from the core is burning off the leaking antifreeze. I would suggest replacing the core before you get in one day and there is a puddle on your floorboard. Or if you go to a local parts store and rent a cooling system pressure tester, wait until the vehicle is cold, pressure the system to 12 lbs and then check for leaks. Hope this helps you out......

99 Sunfire Coolant keeps dumping

You need to find the source of the leak. it hasn't overheated yet because you keep catching it and re-filling. From your description, it sounds a lot like a bad water pump seal (part of pump) but without physically looking you can't be sure of that. when the pump seal begins to fail, internal pressure while running often will drive the seal tighter against the shaft stopping the leak. as pressure drops as the engine cools, the seal relaxes and permits seepage.
With time, that will change and it will leak all the time.

My 95 jeep cherokee is overheating and is leaking antifreeze

Hi Oscar

First: If you have pets, keep them away from the puddle. Antifreeze can kill them. Use sawdust, kitty litter, whatever to soak it up.

Did you see where it was leaking from?

If the shop you mentioned were the ones that replaced it, I'd give them a call, tell them what happened, that you want it TOWED back to their shop to have it done right. Any damage caused by the over heat will be their responsibility too.

Document everything, Dates, times , who talked to, Whether or not your new radiator looks new (or spray painted)

Something isn't right.

How to replace coolant tank on Saturn SL2

The antifreeze tank is held on by I believe two bolts on the side. It's pretty easy to remove,

Just unbolt, remove hose and do the reverse with your new one.

As far as a replacement, I'd junkyard or ebay one. Lot cheaper, quicker, and easier than trying to get an aftermarket one and modifying to fit.
