Well I'm a chrysler master tech & this is a little odd. There's alot of things not in the question so here are mine. I'm assuming it's a 3.9 no 4wd. When did this happen? When you check for power do you have some one turn the key on while you check? If still no power then make sure all the fuses are good from the one under the hood to the one inside the cab. Next be sure to check the grounds. You'll need to by a manual like a Haynes in order to get a decent wiring diagram. In a worst case senario the main power box under the hood has an issue & the asd relay gets no power, hence no start. Ran into it on a 95 caravan & it took a week to figure it out & no replacement was available & I had to hard wire it so it would run. Hope this helps.

It sounds like an ignition switch or an aftermarket alarm system. You said before in wasn't getting power to the coil. If that were the case it wouldn't run with some gas down the t-body. If this is a new problem, check the fuseable links in & out of the box. The one's out of the box are by the starter. Last thing to check is a wire that runs under the battery tray(green/black stripe) to see if it's corroded in half or damaged. If none of that pans out,run a "key on hot" wire to the proper terminal on the fuse box under the hood. That's where a good diagram comes into play. Oops, one other thing is you only get power for 5 secs. to the fuel pump or coil, until you crank it.You may find this more cheaply solved by a garage with the right equipment. No offense.

2003 dodge dakota will not turn over

Get codes read at parts store or get friend with scanner to check them. Note: you should not smell fuel in throttle body as fuel never goes there. Could be bad crank sensor/cam sensor, fuse for ignition, module, others.

1996 dodge dakota 3.9 engine quit running when we do the ignition test it gives us a code of 1255 what would that mean. It will run if we put gas down the carb.

i`m not sure what the code meaning is but if you put gas down the throttle body and it runs then you have a fuel problem which this code may refer to.this year of truck is fuel injected throttle body.it could be a fuse, fuel pump relay, fuel pump, plugged fuel filter, stuck open fuel pressure regulator not building enough pressure, wiring for fuel or pump system or even a computer(ecm) problem.

My 1991 dodge caravan is having issues. I thought it was in the fuel system so i changed my fuel filter, fuel pump relay and fuel pump. my van starts and runs but seems to stall out in 5 to 10 min. like its...

theres a few things to check for this problem. the throttle body needs a good cleaning, especially around throttle plate. I fixed a 95 caravan a while ago, and it would stall for no reason, cleaned out throttle body and now its fine. also a bad cam sensor will cause this as well as a bad idle air tcontrol sensor ( IAC ) try cleaning throttle body good. do this first ok ! do you have a check engine light on, if so have it scanned to find problem code. its very hard to tell by not being there but try above.

when you first turn the key on you should hear the fuel pump run for about 10 seconds . this primes the fuel system .If you do not hear the pump run then you need to check the circuits for the pump
the fuel pump has a fuse and a relay that is use to power up the pump . you should check the fuse and if they are ok then switch the fuel pump relay with a like one in the fuse box (horn relay is the same as the fuel pump relay ) I think the fuse and the relay are both in the under hood fuse box on your truck . If these all check out ok then you need to check for power and ground at the fuel pump connector . if this checks out all good then replace the fuel pump . some times if you think the pump is not working you can bang on the gas tank with a rubber mallet this may move the pump winding off of the dead spot and the truck will start ... but this is not a fix .. just a way to get it started to move it or take it to a shop

95 nissan truck - fuel pump or fuse or relay?

Well you have to check the fuse and relay for the fuel pump,if they are good, then you need to take the fuel pump out to test it,there are 2 wires that goes in 1 positive and 1 negative so connect it to the battery to see if the pump is still good or not.

93 gmc sierra 5.7 liter engine, injection carb, will turn over won't start, replaced fuel pump fuse, replaced fuel pump relay, replaced fuel pump inside gas tank, no gas flow to carb , gas gauge has always...

you say you replaced the fuse, but does the fuse have power? the gray wire at pump should have power when cranking, or for 2 seconds when turning key on. At fuel pump relay, put power onto gray wire, the pump should run if the wiring is good. if it doenst run then ck for power at fuse while power is on gray wire.
