Question about 2002 Mazda Tribute
It sometime dies a couple seconds after starting up. It seems like it happens if I have been in a store for over 20 minutes but less than an hour when ever it happens. The radio an everything still works when it is happening. I usually try to turn of the radio and air conditioner etc, but still doesn't help. It has always started up if I wait an hour since last trying when this happens. Today I waited about a half an hour when it died. It died again when I started it. The next time I tried I floored the gas after it started and kept the RPM's and about 3 k for a bit and then it stayed running. Normally this doesn't work when it initially happens though. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.
I recently solved the very same problem on my tribute. I really needed a tune up, Plugs, fuel filter, pcv valve, cleaned throttle body, and mass air flow sensor. My problem went away, and engine runs great and idles perfect.. If you havent had a tune up recently maybe this will help you.
