Question about 2006 Nissan Titan

3 Answers

I drove my truckabout one mile down the road. shut the truck off went inside for less than 5 minutes. when i cam out it seemed as the battery was dead. i tried having it jumped, all it did was make a ticking noise so i called a tow truck in to jump the vehical they said it sounded as if it was my starter. after about 45 to 60 minutes later i went back out and tried just for giggles and it started right away and has since. if it is the starter where in the engine compartment is it? i heard it when we were trying to crank it but couldn't locate it?

The ticking noise can also point to loose terminals on the battery, check if they are loose and tighten if needed and the starter is normally located on the left hand side down the bottom of the engine towards the gearbox.

Hi there,

Well, its true that it seems like the starter.
Most starters are located on the lower front part of the engine. It has to turn over the crak shaft of the engine to get it started. In olden days one had to use a hand crank to turnj over the engine to get it started. You had to have a lot of "heft" to yourself in order to crank over an engine and get it started. Needless to say, it was very difficult for a small person (i.e. a small female driver) to start the engine by cranking it. Someone got the idea of attaching a battery to the electrical system of a motor car (instead of a magneto system) and using that to run an electrical motor that was attached to the crank shaft and, with a touch of a switch, one could get the battery to "crank over" the eingine and start it without requiring someone to manually "crank over" the engine.

Good Luck!!
Thanks

Remove the black connector to pcm . Check for corrosion pins . Then inspect the plug end for corrosion. I found moisture seep by the weather pack seal and wire on older vehicles.

Have the engine checked for vacuum leaks, that will cause a high idle speed. As a 35 year veteran of auto repair I can tell you that engine flushs are a 100% waste of your hard earned money.

You need to do an OBD2 engine control module fault code test to see if the fault is recorded in the memory of the computer control module. Autozone and others do this testing for free.

2006 chevy colorado out of the blue will not start. just makes clicking sound. Started it drove out of garage shut it off. Went back out 5 minutes later won't start. Clock even reset.

Sounds like a bad battery. A number of chain auto parts stores will check it and your charging system free. Before that, if your battery has removable caps, check the water level, if it's down, fill to the bottom of the fill rings and charge the battery, if you have a battery hydrometer, all the cells should have about the same charge level, if one or more show a lot lower than the others, battery is probably bad. Hope this helps.

I have a 2004 dodge stratus 2.4 dual overhead cam. When driving down the road, bell goes off, check engine light comes on, and it's like I'm driving on limp mode, when going over 2000 rpm's, there's a severe stutter. After getting code for light it points to cam shaft sensor, which i changed. I also changed crank shaft sensor. After all of this was done, drove great for about 30 miles and the same thing happened all over again. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds as if the head gasket is leaking compression pressures into the cooling system. It seems that this problem has just occurred recently. This can be checked at your rad shop. They have a tool that uses a chemical solution that changes color if there is any engine gases present in the coolant.
