Question about 2005 Pontiac Grand Am

1 Answer

I own a Canadian 2005 Pontiac Grand Am which shows 55,000Km on the odo. (which is roughly 34K miles)
I have already located a cluster off of a wrecked vehicle that shows exactly 34K miles.
CAN I JUST SWAP IT for the one in miles?
I understand the DMV aspect of it since I have already spoken with them.
I would highly appreciate your input on the TECHNICAL aspect.

Another alternative would be to convert mine to miles (Dealership wants a fortune to do the job) Can that be done without having to reprogram the computer?
Thanks VERY MUCH for your input

Want to make my ford mondeo ghia 2002 odo speedo meter faulty as my x wife wants to borrow it to travel 600 miles therefore want to tell her that its faulty and unusable as the speedo meter is faulty.

Hello: Disconnect the speed sensor on the transmission. not only will the speedo not work but it will also keep it from shifting properly unless its a straight shift.

Transmission does not engage in drive but will engage in 2nd and shift after 35 km/ hr . reverse works.

Are you getting a "check engine light"? Is it full of fluid, is the fluid clean (red in color)?
It could be a bad shift solenoid, you may want to get it to a trany shop.

Sometimes the speedometer works, but at times in just stays at zero km/h. when it does work though, it is not accurate. It usually works for the first few minutes but then when i stop at an intersection it...

if this is a digital speedo you need to replace it if normal then you need to replace the speedo cable. Or you could buy a cheap GPS they have speedos built into them and they work good for getting you from a to z and back to a as well

How do I change the time on my 2005 grand prix?

notice the "hr" and "mn" buttons on the bottom right of the stereo console (1998 pontiac grand prix...stereo with equalizer built in). just press the buttons to adjust the time (with the stereo turned off).
