2002 Dodge Durango left rear brake light keeps burning out

All of the brake lights work. Just I have to keep replacing the left rear brake light lamp. I have been told that there is probably a problem with the harness. Could you please assist me with a troubleshooting procedure for this issue. Thanks for your help.

First thing I'd do if not already done, is clean socket & contacts real good & make sure no corrosion, then add some dielectric grease before putting in new bulb.

Hello, Well there is not much more it could be unless you have a shorted wire or a burned fuse. I would normally think that the turn signal canceler was bad but the 3rd brake light will still work if that is bad so I would check all fuses and for bare or shorted wires.

I have a 02 dodge durango and on the left side one of the signal ligths won't work, one of the headlights on dim won't work, the top left brake light won't work, and now i have no back up lights.

I don't know this for sure but a friend of mine has a 02 dodge truck and had about the same problem.

3rd. left brake light is out replaced it and still doesn't work

You may need a signal light switch.
If your brake and signal use the same bulb, the brake light power is directed through the signal light switch.
Dodge has had problems in this switch with this exact problem.

All lights work on the rear except the three brake lights

Sounds like the brake light switch has a problem. Located above brake pedal and activated with the brake pedal arm. Check for power going in and coming out when you apply the brake.

The pads are most likely glazed, and therefore aren't working well. Regardless of how much life they have left, replace them and your braking issues are likely to go away.
