Question about 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
2000 VW Jetta (~80,000 miles) does not shift into reverse when brake is depressed; happens on and off; usually resolves itself after a few mi nutes or with repeated attempts. The shift lever simply does not move when brake is depressed, the button on the shift lever is pressed, and lever is attempted to move from the park position.
Is this going from park?? if so, it could be the module inside the cover where the shifter is...this is the piece that tells the shifter when the brake is pressed and allows it to shift.... check that out and let me know if u have anything else....
