Have you scanned the codes? You need to find out why the light is on and correct the problem. After fixing the cause, the code reader may be able to clear the codes, if not try diconnecting the battery for 20mins to 1/2 hour.

Meaning of ABS light

On vehicles equipped with antilock brakes (ABS), a second warning light is provided to warn if a problem occurs within the ABS system. The ABS lamp comes on when the ignition is turned on for a bulb check, then goes out after the engine starts. If the ABS warning light remains on or comes on while driving, it indicates a fault has occurred in the ABS system.

What happens next depends on the nature of the fault. On most applications, the ABS system disables itself if the ABS warning light comes on and remains on.

How to reset the pressure monitoring system warning light on Mazda 3

Read the manual on the mazda site... it's very helpful. Have you changed tires recently? have a spare on?

"After adjusting the tire air pressures, it may
require some time for the TPMS warning
light to go out. If the TPMS warning light
remains illuminated, drive the vehicle at a
speed of at least 25 km/h (16 mph) for 10
minutes, and then verify that it goes out."

TO RESET, MOST VEHICLES TURN ON THE IGNITION SWITCH, [DO NOT START THE ENGINE ] PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR 3 TIMES, THE LIGHT SHOULD GO OUT. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, YOU CAN DISCONNECT THE NEG. BATTERY CABLE FOR A MINUTE THEN RECONNECT, START THE ENGINE, THE LIGHT SHOULD BE OUT

Check engine light, knocking? PCV Valve?

I have this same vehicle. The "check engine" light warns you that the input from a sensor is not valid. To locate the problem sensor you need to have the fault codes downloaded and interpreted. I am sure your PCV has little to do with this. The burning smell cold be oil from your transaxle seals being thrown up onto the exhaust pipes. The outback is a sophistecated and refined vehicle that requires sophisticated equipment to work on it. If you have engine "knocking" it is likely to be the knock sensor and if this is the case, you need to have it remedied very quickly

Best thing to do in your case is take it to a mechanic and put it on a computer scanner to bring up a code # to detect the faulty part. The Check Engine Light usually represents a problem in the emissions system.

The subary has new battery. the car is locked in parking gear.

Sounds like your security system needs reset. The only part I can tell you is that the black box under the dash by the steering column has a little red reset button. That will the least turn your flashers off. You will have to contact Subaru for instructions on how to program your remote again. Good luck And have a good day.

Vdc and engine check lights both on

under dash connect together the 2 green multiplugs. The CEL light (Check Engine Light) will flash. Slow then fast. Count the slow flashes then the fast ones. I.E. code 21 will give 2 slow flashes then 1 fast = 21.

let me know the code and I will diagnose for you.
