Question about 1996 Dodge Caravan
After changing oil and filter etc. How do I reset the warning "service engine" ?
Switch ignition on engine off.slowly depress and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 10 seconds.switch ignition off.if change oil service light still come on try the reset procedure again.

Is it the "oil change req." light? Your owners manual will have the process for reseting the oil change light.
If it is "service engine soon" light, the vehicle will need to be scanned with a professional scanner.

Next time you're in the area stop by the mechanics
shop, stop in and ask him/her to clear the codes with
a scanner. (5min job) Otherwise you have to remove a battery terminal, wait 20 min. reconnect it, and then reprogram your radio/ reset the clock. more often than not the simple way is the best. Hope this works
