Problem for BMW 2001 325
I have a 2001 BMW 325i. It started with the rear
I have a 2001 BMW 325i. It started with the rear light display on the dash came on but nothing was wrong with the rear lights. I checked the fuses and nothing was wrong. Now the locks don't work. Only driver side with key.

- Thanks Jamesmc5 ... the central lock button doesn't work any door. the remote function doesn't work with any doors either. the only thing that the key works is the driver's door when used manually. I don't know if this is a factor but when I was checking the fuses, I did have the key in the ignition.Jun 21, 2009

The connector on the rear lights gets burnt and you have to replace the connector, the burnt wire, and the taillight assembly. For the locks it could be a few things. Does the central lock button work all the doors? Does the remote function work with any doors, or trunk? Could be anything from the driver's door lock actuator to the general module for the car. If you have a scanner to check the ZKE module and code "general locking, unlocking relay" is there then a new general module is needed. The relays are built into it.

- Most likely cause would be the general module (ZKE). You would have to scan it for codes, check to make sure it is getting power and if it is, it needs to be replaced. Coding is necessary (special equipment).Yes
