1990 Acura Ledgend (AT) When the key is turned to the start position nothing happens. Starter does not engage. I can jump the starter solinoid and it turns over just fine. I'v checked continuity of the ignition switch, and the neutral switch. Both work fine. Have new battery and power to ignition switch. The blk/wht wire from inside firewall to under the hood (starter) is open. WHERE?

There is a plug to go through the firewall above the passenger wheel well. You may have a bad clutch interlock switch (m/t) or neutral safety switch (a/c).

Car will not start, its not battery, I was told its a fuse, need diagram of fuses to which one affects starting car

Car will not start how ? A crank- no - start or a no crank - no - start < meaning when you turn the key to the start position does anything happen ? Starter engages an spins the engine an doesn't start an run ! Or when you turn the key to start the position nothing happens ? Who told you it was a fuse ? Are there any light's lit on the instrument cluster , SECURITY ? If Nothing happens Find the starter relay an jump pin's 30 & 87 , if nothing is wrong with starter , battery , battery cables it should spin the engine . Is your vehicle automatic transmission or stick ? Automatic has a neutral safety switch , won't let vehicle engine spin unless in park or neutral . Manual has clutch switch , won't let starter engage unless the clutch pedal is pressed . Both of these switches can go bad . There are videos on youtube on basic electrical trouble shooting . Also on testing starter circuit . How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit

When i turn the key it just makes a click sound and nothing happens

If the battery is charged and the cables are clean, you are probably hearing the starter solenoid on the starter trying to engage.
If the starter can not be jumped directly, I would agree the starter is faulty.

Wont start turn over with key but can jump accross starter

solinoid for starter is bad. on a lot of fords the solinoid is mounted on fender, under hood. if you jump from one side to other on solinoid, and it tries to start then solinoid is toast. just follow the positive cable from battery. and you will find it.

Hello homeygreatda
A fairly common cause for this problem in older GM's, is a worn security pellet in the key or the lock cylinder. If one or both of the pellets is worn, they will not create the correct resistence value
to signal the powertrain control module(PCM) and allow the starter to engage. With that said, if you
have a spare key give it a try, and if it works have a new key made using the spare key to copy from. Hope this is helpful.

Fist of all the ignition switch tuns with out key its been laid up seveveral years.had to jump solinoid to get engine to run .so i replaed solinoid nowwhen you turn the key nothing happens youneed to jump...

As the car has been laid up many years, it needs a thorough servicing. Besides a solenoid in the starter motor, there is a bendex as well. Its role is to push the starter pinion forwards to enable it to engage the flywheel when you turn the key. And when the key is turned backwards then this pinion is pulled backwards. This goes bad sometimes as most of the things do. So it should be repaired. Then the starter motor will start functioning as it should.

Starter wont engage

The problem is either the starter solinoid (located on fender near battery) or you are not getting power to the "s" terminal on the starter solinoid from the ignition switch. If you follow the positive battery cable from the battery you'll follow it to the solinoid. Remove the small wire from the terminal marked "s" on the solinoid and using a screwdriver jump from "s" terminal (not the wire) to where positive battery cable connects to solinoid. (with battery connected). If starter doesn't do anything the solinoid is bad. If starter cranks then you are not getting voltage from ignition switch through "s" terminal wire.
