Question about 2002 Porsche 911
I am unable to unlatch front hood to get to battery which is dead.
Use a portable battery pack like the ones at Pep Boys or any parts place. Youll need a 12 volt plug on both ends to plug into your cars cigerette lighter and the other end into the battery pack. Let it charge up a few min. and then try the latch . It should open.

On the 996 and 997 there is a panel on the drivers side footwell that has a fuse panel and exposes a red positive terminal that pulls out slightly. You can connect the positive lead from a battery or charger to this terminal and the negative lead to a convenient ground spot like the door catch.
I removed the battery for the winter from my 996 and went through this process in the Spring when I realized my mistake.
