A big rattle & noise.We cant get water pump off.

resonance at rpm when stationary can only come from those parts rotating
That limits the noise source down to the engine and transmission
Starting with the engine , the most obvious noise sources are the idler pulley bearings , water pump bearings , power steering pump, ac compressor pulley bearings (compressor if activated), drive belt-loose or failing and harmonic balancer rubber failing
There may be a noise source from a worn/loose timing chain and that noise will be as a harmonic rattle
moving on to the transmission
If manual , bearing noise can be determined by the application of the clutch
Throw out bearing noise will stop or get worse with the clutch depressed and gear /bearing noise will stop with the clutch depressed
Probably not a lot of help as the description of resonance is wide open to harmonic--rattle , whirring, hum or even loose material in the exhaust system such as failed cat converter moving around

Do you have a spare tire , jack and lug wrench in trunk or under the car? they loosen up sometimes & make banging & rattling noises if not secured properly.

this is indicative of a water pump bearing failure
It may be a idler pulley bearing failure but I would be testing the water pump

Timing will not make a noise unless you are under acceleration or load ---Water pump will make a dead rattling sound ( listen to the end of a screw driver on the water pump housing . It will have a deep rumble if faulty)--centre bearing will be noisy when travelling and will produce a vibration at speed . More information as to when the noise is happening and wether the car is stationary or travelling would be a big help.

Knocks ---big ends or main bearings
rattles-----tappets worn or loose or hydraulics leaking down too fast
Tinny noise ----water pump bearing , fan hub.
Sharp release of air noise --- broken exhaust pipe

sounds like a timing chain rattle? water pump rattle?

sounds to me from the brief description like you have either a water pump rattling, or a timing chain coming slack. Is the noise coming from the alternator? Never grease pulleys, ever. also the stop squeak spray is bad for your belts. Don't know why they even sell it. If you listen carefully you may be able to pin point the rattle. Is this a tick tick tick, or a rattle rattle rattle? Does sound like a water pump rattle or timing chain slap though. Hope this helps

Park your car overnight and put a large white piece of paper underneith your car. In the morning check the paper. If the paper is wet with liquid, you could have a water pump leak.
