Question about 2000 Mazda Protege

Hesitation @ low revs

I have a 99 mazda, and @ about 101000 miles I decied to change oil and spark plugs. Since then have notice the hesitation and about a week since change, check engine light has came on. Will be checking plugs first then fuel filter

First thing i would do is put the old spark plugs back in and try it [may be faulty new plug] if that doesnt work replace ht leads and all so take distributor cap off and check condition

Hesitation on Startup. Battery & Alternator are good. Fuel related? Spark plugs?


If you are saying it takes a long time to start the engine, have you checked fuel pressure before and after cranking ?

The throttle position sensor needs to be replaced.

2002 Mazda Tribute V6 shaky idle and tugs and pulls at a stop light. It feels like a slight misfire.


Cam sensor. I have had the same problem, we have replaced air intake, crank shaft sensor, fuel injectors, coils, spark plugs, converters, and the cam sensor has seemed to help so far

99 tahoe 141000 miles, owned since 2000 no problems ever, last month started bad hesitation first drive of the day only, between 30-50 mph goes but acts like not getting fuel?? after about 10 miles it


Most common problems with hesitation is low fuel pressure or a faulty throttle position sensor.
Was the TPS and the fuel filter on that list of stuff replaced ?

When coming to complete stop, I feel some vibration. what could it be. going up hill notice a little hesitation.

EGR Valve going bad

CRC MAF Cleaner
CRC Throttle Body Cleaner


You can't leave spark plugs in there over 60,000 miles
Change fuel filter every 3 years along with the plugs

Hesitation during acceleration


could be the type of plug you are using.I was told only to use ngk plugs.I recently put bosch plugs in my mazda 3 and the check engine light came on and it started missfiring.

change the transmission fluid, replace the oil and oil filter check spark plug cables, check starter coilpak, and make sure there is coolant
