Question about 1992 Ford Taurus

1 Answer

I replaced both bulbs in 2002 Taurus and one bulb is not working. What is the problem? Last week I noticed that the headlight was not working. New bulbs were put in and the same side (driver side) is still not working.

Did you check the fuses or relays under the hood. Swap the headlight relays around see if it makes a difference.

Have you checked the bulbs. They could be just burnt out. Lots of times bulbs blow at close to the same time. If they are the original bulbs they are exactly the same age.

How do you pull complete headlight assembly on a 1998 ford taurus

How to Replace a Headlight Bulb in a Ford Taurus

The Ford Taurus has one of thelongest production histories of any of Ford's mid- cars. You should check that the headlightson your Ford Taurus are working properly on a regular basis. When one of theheadlight bulbs burn out, replacing it is a simple repair you can performyourself. These steps apply only to the fourth generation Ford Taurus producedafter 2000.

1. Turn off your Ford Taurus, engage the parking brake and remove the keys fromthe ignition before beginning any repairs. Ensure that the headlights are offby double-checking you turned the interior control completely to the offposition. 2. Raise the hood by firstpulling up on the interior hood release latch located under the instrumentpanel on the left of the steering column. Walk around to the front of the car and release the auxiliary latchlocated at the front center of the hood. Raise the hood until the liftcylinders catch and hold the hood open on its own. 3. Unscrew the bolt from theheadlamp assembly by turning it counterclockwise. Use a screwdriver or pliersto pry up the retaining pins enough that you can pull them straight up and outwith either your hands or a pair of pliers. These pins are located at the backof the headlight assembly. 4. Pull the headlight assembly out from the front of the vehicle. Remove the protective dust shieldfrom the electrical connector and bulb assembly by turning it counterclockwiseand pulling it off. 5. Free the bulb assembly by disconnecting the electricalconnector and retaining ring. You can simply pull off the connector to removeit. The retaining ring requires a counterclockwise turn for removal. 6. Take out the old headlight bulb by pulling it straightout from the headlight assembly. 7. Install a new replacement bulb by pushing it straightin with the flat part of the bulb's base facing upward. Be sure that thegrooves in the plastic base of the bulb align properly with those in theheadlight assembly. 8. Reinstall the remaining components of the headlightassembly in reverse order of removal and check that the headlights are workingproperly. How to install headlights on 2002 toyota camry

I assume you mean just the bulbs:
  1. 1 Shut off the Camry's engine and set the parking brake for added safety. Also, make sure its headlights are switched off.
  2. 2 Open the hood using the primary and auxiliary hood release latches.
  3. 3 Locate the back of the headlight assembly and determine whether the low- or high-beam bulb needs to be replaced.
  4. 4 Turn the headlight bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly.
  5. 5 Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the bulb. Carefully dispose of the bulb to prevent it from shattering or cracking.
  6. 6 Attach the electrical connector to the new bulb and insert it into the headlight assembly. Twist it clockwise to secure its position.
  7. 7 Test the new headlight to make sure it works before closing the hood.
Thank you,
Lee

I got a 2002 ford taurus and when i go to turn my headlights on the interior light dont work and the blinkers light up but they do blink when im turning, i was what it could be thats causing that thank...

Many turn signal lamps will have multiple bulbs in them. If "one" of the bulbs is faulty, the interior lamp or lamps will come on, indicating a bad bulb. You will need to turn on your left blinker and view the bulb and make sure all bulbs appear to be blinking on front and rear of the car, then repeat with the right blinker. If you find one that doesn't appear to look right or blinks faster slower or dimmer, then replace the bulbs in that turn signal. The interior light may begin working properly when you replace the "shorted" bulb for the turn signals. If it does not, check the fuses to make sure the "shorted" bulb didn't damage your fuse for the interior lights.

Replace headlight bulb on driver's side

Pop the hood and you will notice that behind the light covering there is a connector that screws into the back of the light cover. Unscrew it and the bulb can be removed and replaced with a new one. Be sure to not touch the new bulb with your bare hands as this will cause the bulb to burn out quicker (its a chemical reaction of some kind). Hope this helps, let me know how it goes. Good luck!
