The glow light flashing is an indication that there is fault. Often this is associated with a blown brake bulb or faulty brake switch which is an electronic switch at the base of the brake pedal itself. It often goes faulty on these Golfs causing the glow worm to flash. An odd way to indicate a brake fault I know but there you go - thats the way VW do it! Check the actual bulbs first though. Hope this helps.

00 Honda accord starts and drives when I take my foot of trottle it cuts out. There's a green light with a key symbol flashin on the dash board, but no other warning lights can anyone help? Thanks Alan!

It could be the immobilizer receiver, ECM or something related to the battery connections. I would check the battery connections first, go to autozone or advance have the battery and alternator tested..they both do for free.. even check the fuses under the hood and under the dash to rule everything else out first. this can be a complicated problem to correctly repair. It might be one for the repair shop.

Here is a TSB to give you a little more info. regarding the immobilizer system:

1997 ford f150 5.4 auto 4x4 truck shutters and looses a lot of power after it warms up when stepping on the gas. Not all the time, mostly after it warms up, and the check engine light flashes?

A flashin check engine light usually means a bad misfire. Coils are a common problem but it may just need a tune up. a shop can scan it and pinpoint the problem.

My car is flashin and S3 light and Idk what that means

When the S3 (Transmission) is blinking on the dash, you need to stop trying to start your car and give it a few minutes to chill out. Then turn your key to "on" but without actually starting your car. Put your foot on the break and begin to move your shift up and down slowly. This will insure that you do not have a stick between the engine and the transmission. With the car "on" but not started, continue to move the shifter up and down a few more times. Put it in neutral, with your foot still on the break, and start the engine. This will not work permanently, but will get you from A to B for a little longer. Its most likely the transmission switch failing.

TIME TO HAVE COMPLETE TUNE UP CAN GO TO A PARTS STORE LIKE AUTO ZONE AND HAVE A FREE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK. MOSTLIKELY YOUR ALTERNATOR OR BATTERY IS BAD. POSSIBLY A BAD SERPENTINE BELT.

Missfire in cylinder 1 3 5

Never seen a 318 with a six cylinder before - they only came in 4 in the 1800cc to the best of my knowledge. Anyway, your problem is classic and it is the coyle pack. It is all one unit with two separate windings - 1st winding 1, 3, and 5 and 2nd winding 2, 4 and 6. Are you sure that the engine is not a 2.5 stright 6? When you take off the coyle pack, check the part number on the web. Good Luck!!
