Had battery tested twice yesterday. (780 CCA) tested fine. This morning I have no power at all and the key is stuck in the ignition. What could this be?

Go to your computer search for fusebox diagrams and find out where the starter relay is, most likely its a square black box inside the under hood black square fuse block.

Oldsmobile wont start this morning, replaced battery and now threr is no sound. temp is below freezing. what could be my problem?

Is the starter motor good? Take it off and have it checked. It is always possible you got 2 lemon batteries (though not usually likely). Was the car running fine before? There are 2 rating for the battery: Volts and CCA (cold cranking amps) make sure you have the correct battery for the engine.

Why does key get stuck in ignition when battery dies

Because there is an electric solenoid that must be disengaged to replace the key and that takes battery power.

Look at fuse #1. It should be a 30 amp fuse. How did you test your battery? How old is your battery? Do you charge your battery yourself? If you battery is old, it may not have enough amperage to turn the starter. What you are looking for is cold cranking amps (CCA). Have your battery tested at any store that sells matters and have then read the CCA. Your batter may indicate 12V on a multimeter but that does not indicate that the CCA is where it should be.

Hard Start in the mornings

it is your battery. some batteries have a higher rating than other batteries. look at your battery and check the "CCA", or Cold Cranking Amps. that is how much power it will put out in the mornings or when in cold weather. the higher the cca rating, the easier your car will start in the mornings. your also have a larger vehicle with it being an SUV, so it will generally take more power to turn the starter anyways. Just walk into any parts store, even Wal-Mart, and get a battery with a higher CCA rating than the one cu5rrently in your vehicle. There should be a sticker on the battery that will tell. Good Luck
