Timing belt ,it jumped time

Timing belts do that. They must be replaced at the interval recommended by the manufacturer based on age and wear and tear issues, Failure to do so will result in what you have had occur. Most people are not aware that in most vehicles today a broken timing belt, or one that jumps time can cause major internal engine damage due to pistons hotting valves. Unless you are a skilled mechanic (and if you are asking this question here I doubt that), this is a job for a professional mechanic.

My 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee started knocking. Multiple local mechanics determined it needed new motor. A "reman" motor was puchased ($3600) and installed. On test drive the car ran great then...

All I can say is do some research online find a REPUTABLE shop and let them drive it until it dies. Three things are needed for an engine to run: spark, fuel, compression. I doubt it is a compression problem being that it is a new engine. Something is causing either spark or fuel to drop out, a good mechanic should be able to quickly identify what is missing from the equation. Find a shop with a lab scope that can test sensors that send signals to the engine computer. It could be as simple as a fuel pump getting hot and quitting. Good Luck!

I have a 1999 chrysler cirrus and i jump started it and it started right up but when i turned the car off it wouldnt start again

took our kids 99 Cirrus to shop always had to jump the car. When mechanic was called he said he had traced a ground to under the fuse box.But now the car would not start or jump he said we need to reflash the computer. Took it to Chrysler dealer shop. They replaced distributor and computer 1300 dollars. They said it was fixed. Got the car back. Let it set for weekend. Tried to use it Monday morning would not start. Took the car back to dealership got a loaner vehicle. After a month dealership called and said the car had a bad battery. Now we had the kids replace the battery twice before we ever took it to the firsl shop. I think the car has a short draining down the battery and am considering a battery cut off switch to isolate the battery when not using the vehicle. Getting very discouraged and poor.

How hard is it to replace a torque converter switch? every so often the service engine light comes on. when it does, the rpm's jump when shifting. I NEED HELP.

Is this an automatic or manual (5 speed)? The part you are referring to is called a crank shaft sensor. The torque converter doesn not have a switch. It is internal in the tranny between the engine and the front part of the tranny.

I suggest replacing the crank shaft sensor and the cam shaft sensor. I am not sure where these are located on this vehicle - however, I have found them in most cases just behind the harmonic balancer. Be aware however that some engines were designed with internal sensors and may require the work of a mechanic to repair this.

I first suggest taking the car to a mechanic (or auto parts dealer) and have a diagnostics test performed as this will determine more accurately what the problem is, or could be.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Let me get this straight, you took your Nissan to the NISSAN dealer (who has extensive data and resources) and they said you needed an engine due to the timing had jumped and you declined due to the $6500.00 price. So you took it to the independent guy (local mechanic) that is guessing and throwing parts at it and most likely making it worse because you only needed an ECM that the dealer said was ok, 2 cam sensors and 3 coils (but hey its cheaper than an engine). So now you have a used ECM that doesn't belong in the vehicle that you most likely didn't need and are awaiting the correct one from Nissan. You now have or will have 3 working ECMs, 4 good cam sensors and nine good coils in a van that will still not run. Ok and now you think that the independent guy (local mechanic) doesn't know what he's doing and you want to know if anybody knows a good mechanic. Whatever gave you that impression?? I know now what the problem is.....it's you. You tried to save money but it didn't work. Hopefully you didn't do any further damage but who knows. Get your money back from the local mechanic and take your van to the dealer to get the engine you need before someone else takes you for a ride or damages your vehicle further.

Starting Problems with a 1995 chevy astro 2wd 4.3 L

The fuel pump might be going out. Did that mechanic do a fuel pressure test/tests? Sometimes the pump might be acting up when it's going out. Off hand, I don't know what it could be.
